Maker Space Collaborations, Phillips Academy Andover, Art 225, 9th Grade.
Led by Visiting Artist, Danny Gonzalez, students expand their understanding of art using the maker's space technology: the laser cutter and 3D printer. Students pair up and are challenged to combine their pre-existing artwork with their partner's to create something new. Understandings of branding, archives and collaboration are applied and pushed as groups find commonalities and points of interest between their bodies of work. The process-based project asks the question, "what's next?" as students aim to recycle trends and elements in their work into new and exciting forms. See embedded student PDFs below.
